The Role of the Committee
The Coordinated Access System Committee (CASC) supports the Sacramento Continuum of Care (CoC) by overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of the local Coordinated Access System (CAS). The committee plays a key role in ensuring the system works efficiently to connect people experiencing homelessness to available services and housing.
The CASC is a standing committee of the CoC and includes representatives from service providers and other partners involved in housing access and system coordination. Members are responsible for:
- Establishing policies and procedures for the CAS, including those specific to survivors of domestic violence, in consultation with service providers
- Developing performance metrics and evaluation tools to assess how the CAS functions
- Regularly gathering feedback from service providers, clients, and community stakeholders
- Reporting on system access, resource use, and outcomes to the CoC Board and broader CoC community
The CASC also identifies gaps and brings forward system-level recommendations to help improve the reach and effectiveness of the coordinated access system across Sacramento County.
