Success Stories from 2-1-1
"This month, I had the opportunity to assist a client with requesting financial assistance to pay off her first month’s rent and security deposit. The client is a 63-year-old woman who had spent a long time experiencing homelessness. She did not have her own place or residence and had been trying to find something for herself for a long time. Finally, the client was accepted into a place of residence but needed to pay the security deposit and first month’s rent upfront. The client, her case worker, and I started to collect all the necessary documents for the application as quickly as possible. Once we received everything, I submitted the application. It was particularly tense because the client’s housing management had given us a clear deadline by which they would wait. Soon enough, I received an answer, and the client was approved! The client was very grateful when she heard the news. I am glad we managed to meet the deadline and that the client finally has a place she can call home."
