Volunteer Manual for the 2026 Point in Time Count Now Available

Home / News and Updates / Volunteer Manual for the 2026 Point in Time Count Now Available

The Volunteer Manual for the 2026 Point in Time Count is now available! This manual, an all-new resource for the 2026 PIT, offers a clear overview of what to expect, how the night is organized, and the role volunteers play in helping Sacramento better understand homelessness in our community.

The manual is designed for first-time and returning volunteers alike. It outlines the basics of the count, key expectations, safety information, and what you will need to know before heading out with your team. It is also a living document and may be updated as we refine details leading up to the event.

In the coming weeks, we will release additional tools to help volunteers prepare.

These include short training videos, night-of one-page guides, and more. Don’t have time to review the materials ahead of time? You will have support from trained site coordinators in person to help get oriented and answer questions.

Thank you for stepping forward to support this important effort. Sacramento’s 2026 Point in Time Count depends on community participation, and your time and commitment make a real difference.
