State of Homelessness Dashboard

Built from Sacramento’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), this dashboard provides near real-time data on the number of people experiencing homelessness in our community. It shows how many people are currently unhoused, how that number changes over time, and how individuals enter, move through, and exit the system. Updated monthly, it offers a consistent and actionable view of system flow and population trends to support ongoing decision-making.

Point-in-Time Count Reports

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a federally required census that estimates how many people are experiencing homelessness on a single night in January. The sheltered count is conducted every year, while the unsheltered count occurs every other year. The data includes demographic details such as age, race, gender, and household type. Though it represents just one night, the PIT Count offers a valuable snapshot that helps track changes in homelessness over years.
