View our October report for highlights from Sacramento’s front door to homelessness and housing services: the Coordinated Access System (CAS). Each month, the CAS helps connect thousands of residents experiencing or at risk of homelessness with crucial community resources.

Stories from the Frontline

"A single mother reached out to the CAN [Coordinated Access Navigation] team, she was a devoted mother caring for her one-year-old son and facing the uncertainty of homelessness just as the rainy season approached.

Her primary goal was to find safe shelter for herself and her baby.

Within five days, the CAN team coordinated with local partners to secure placement in an emergency family shelter, providing them a warm and stable environment. With her immediate needs met, the client expressed deep relief and gratitude, sharing that she could finally rest knowing her son was safe indoors.

This swift support gave her the stability she needed to begin focusing on rebuilding her life and working toward long-term housing."
