Lisa has served as CEO of Sacramento Steps Forward since 2019.

Previously, she served six years in deputy director positions for the California Department of Housing and Community Development, leading housing policy initiatives, including the adoption of a statewide housing assessment and overseeing the development and deployment of over 15 housing and community development funding programs to communities and affordable housing developers.

Lisa also spent 21 years with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA), including 11 years in senior leadership positions. While working for SHRA, she provided strategic direction and program development in housing and community development throughout the Sacramento Region.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Davis in International Relations and is a graduate of the Sierra Health Leadership program.

Roseanne Lopez, Chief Administrative Officer of Sacramento Steps Forward, oversees operational support functions, including administrative functions, technology, human resources, performance excellence, procurement and legal support.

Prior to joining SSF, Roseanne worked as a management consultant, assisting clients with improving operations through a focus on strategy, technology and people. She has facilitated leadership training and coaching for public sector and non-profit organizations.

Roseanne has been at an executive level for technology and audit firms leading consulting practices and was formerly a Partner with Deloitte & Touche. She received her Masters of Business Administration from Long Beach State University and her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management from San Diego State University.

Peter brings more than 15 years of experience in the homeless services sector.

A dedicated systems thinker and strategist, Peter plays a key role in shaping and advancing Sacramento’s efforts to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. He has led transformative initiatives, including the redesign and implementation of Sacramento’s Coordinated Access System. His approach centers on human-centered design, cross-sector collaboration, and the integration of voices with lived experience into every stage of system planning and improvement.

Peter received a Master of Public Administration from McGeorge School of Law and his undergraduate degree in Music from California State University Sacramento. Outside of work, Peter is a drummer and proud softball dad, always finding rhythm—whether behind the kit or in the complexity of system reform.

Trent leads federally funded homelessness programs across Sacramento County.

He oversees core functions tied to HUD’s Continuum of Care, including coordinated entry, data and analytics, governance, and federal grants management. With a Ph.D. in Psychology and a background in behavioral research, Trent brings a systems-level perspective to performance improvement and public accountability.

Prior to joining SSF, he served in research leadership roles at the California Department of Justice and continues to teach statistics at Sacramento City College.

Ayanna is responsible for driving system-level efforts that enhance and integrate systems of care for people experiencing homelessness.

Ayanna is a versatile public health professional who leads with kindness and a deep commitment to health equity. Prior to joining Sacramento Steps Forward, she served as Project Co-Director for the Community Mental Health Equity Project TA Center and the Crisis & Recovery Enhancement TA Center where she coordinated statewide technical assistance initiatives aimed at promoting culturally responsive behavioral health practice.

As Grants Coordinator for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, she was pivotal in expanding food access and family support programs for economically disadvantaged populations across Sacramento County. Her professional journey includes over a decade of experience in program planning and evaluation, project management, grants management, and community engagement across nonprofit and public settings.

Ayanna holds an EdD in Health Professions and MHA from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, an MPH from George Washington University, and a BA in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara.

Greer leads provider engagement, develops systemwide training strategies, and helps design coordinated prevention efforts.

She previously served as SSF’s Director of Policy & Communications, where she led public affairs initiatives, strengthened relationships with elected officials and partners, and guided the organization’s media and messaging strategy during critical transitions.

Prior to joining SSF, Greer served for more than a decade as the communications lead at the Oakland Housing Authority and held strategic roles in both the nonprofit and private sectors, including at Kaiser Permanente, the California Bar Foundation, and ChevronTexaco, among others.

An author, podcaster, and frequent public speaker, Greer brings a passion for storytelling, big picture thinking, and strategic collaboration to her work. She holds a Master’s in Liberal Arts from the University of St. Thomas (Houston, TX) and a B.A. in Speech Communications from San Francisco State University.

Michelle is the Director of Coordinated Access System (CAS) Operations at Sacramento Steps Forward, bringing over 14 years of experience in social services and homelessness systems. Her work focuses on advancing equitable, person-centered solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use, domestic violence, and mental illness.

As a trained therapist, Michelle brings a trauma-informed lens to her leadership, helping ensure services are both compassionate and data-driven. Before joining SSF, she managed the HEART Transitional Housing program in Davis, where she supported individuals transitioning to stable housing. She also led supportive housing programs and community initiatives in Columbus, Ohio, building cross-sector partnerships to improve local responses.

Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Brandman University. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, traveling, and practicing meditation.

Kim leads the department that manages external and internal communications strategies for Sacramento Steps Forward.

Kim has more than three decades of experience supporting non-profit, public, and private organizations in defining and serving their core missions. She has developed and managed communications campaigns, fundraising initiatives, program implementation, and grassroots outreach to support environmental conservation, social justice, economic equity, and K-12 education.

She studied political science and Intercultural studies at Guilford College and received a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Outside of work, she loves exploring the world, being in nature, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.
